Why Personalised Coaching?

In many ways Personalised Coaching is just effective coaching and flies in the face of generalised coaching. Personalised coaching upens up new possibilities for both coach and player. Generalised coaching limits all parties. Here’s what we mean…

Generalised

Personalised

You coach anyone and everyone

You coach primarily who you want to coach

You treat everyone the same

You treat everyone as an individual

You coach a generic swing technique

You match the technique to the person in front of you

Your success rate is low and stagnates

Your success rate is high and continues to grow

You often feel stress/helplessness in a lesson

You feel confident and free, knowing that you have a number of ideas and solutions to offer

Players sometimes come back to you

Players often come back to you

You limit yourself professionally and financially

You can work and earn on your own terms

Doubts That You May Have That We Will Look To Consider...

  • Could my players be getting more out of my coaching? / Could I be doing things better?
  • What could I change with this player that would have the biggest effect?
  • Are there more effective drills or exercises than the ones I use currently?
  • What would other coaches have done in that situation?
  • Sometimes I see swings that are so “weird” that I don’t really know what to do
  • I have some players who I think already look good so I don’t really know what to do
  • If what they think they need to work on is different from what I think they need to work on
  • Dealing with players with limited ranges of movement
  • How to work with different personalities
  • Not sure how to be persuasive / encourage someone to follow
  • What to do if things aren’t going well
  • Is there anything that I’m missing?

This Course Is For You If...

  • You are really into coaching
  • You know that you can improve but you’re not really sure what to improve or how to do it
  • You know that sometimes what you say to players isn’t really the answer
  • You have very few people to talk to about your coaching
  • You feel that your success rate could be higher

In Summary...

Time

If you have done other forms of training then you would probably agree with us that the content covered in them could probably have been spread over a much shorter period of time.

At the Golf Coach Institute we try to keep our courses as sharp and specific to you as possible without trying to elongate them over a longer period of time.

Online

All sessions are conducted online via Zoom meaning that you can study the GCI Personalised Coaching Course from any country in the world.

Although we encourage coaches to attend the online sessions, all lessons are uploaded to Slack alongside other useful materials.

FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

We ask all our students to attend the live sessions but we understand that life gets in the way. If you are not able to attend then all sessions are uploaded to Slack to be viewed when best suits you. However, if the Golf Coach Institute believes that you are missing too many sessions and/or believes that it is disrupting the rest of the group, we may ask you to attend your sessions at another time slot

The pre-course call primarily serves as a way for you and your mentor to get to know each other. What your current situation is, where you would like to go with your coaching and what you expect from the course will all be discussed.

The post-course call is an opportunity for both you and the mentor to discuss how the content covered in the course can be best applied to your objectives (covered in the pre-course call) with clear objectives and materials explored.

Not really. Or at least not in its known form. We will ask you to reflect on the sessions as well as your own coaching and from time to time ask you to record coaching videos but we won’t be asking you for long essays, no.
